Editor w tekście przypomniał sylwetke Jerzego Pokojowczyka.
Moje wspomnienia: Z Jurkiem rozegrałem wiele partii. Pamiętam, że wyróżniał się niezwykłym spokojem i pracowitością. Zarówno w trakcie gry, jak i analiz.
Początki nie miał pomyślne. Często zajmował dalekie miejsca w turniejach, ale nie załamywał się. Był cierpliwy.
W mistrzostwach okręgu bydgoskiego juniorów (Świecie 1-6 lipca 1966) Jurek zajął 7 miejsce z 3.5 punktami z 9 partii. Nasza partia zakończyła moim zwycięstwem w 14 posunięciach.
W ciągu roku zrobił niezwykłe postępy. W następnych mistrzostwach (Bydgoszcz 25-31 czerwca 1967) był już drugi.
Przegrał tylko ze mną i partia ta miała ważne znaczenie dla układu czołówki .
